Do we have to attend every activity as a group?
No. This trip balances shared experiences and free exploration time.
Can I bring a spouse or friend who isn’t in the book club?
Yes! Friends and family are welcome.
Is this trip affiliated with Warner Bros. or J.K. Rowling?
No. This is an independently organized fan experience.
How much walking should I expect?
Moderate daily walking on cobblestones and historic streets.
What should I pack?
Comfortable walking shoes, layers, and weather-appropriate clothing for the UK in late September.
Will meals be coordinated?
We’ll may suggest some group dining locations, but meals are paid individually.
What does my $795 payment cover?
This payment secures your place on the trip and ensures that you are included when we purchase group tickets for the Included Group Experiences, including includes high-demand items like Harry Potter and the Cursed Child tickets, the Warner Bros. Studio Tour, and our private group transport from the airport. You are responsible for booking and paying for the rest of the trip on your own.
What happens if I need to cancel?
We will begin purchasing tickets for the Included Group Experiences after 5 p.m. on April 16, 2026. We cannot guarantee refunds after this time. If you must cancel, notify us immediately using the Contact Us form or emailing us at owlpost@hpbookclub.org. We will let you know which portion, if any, of your $795 payment has not yet been “committed” to a vendor.
Contact your airline and hotel, as you booked these directly and will need to handle those cancellations through their customer service channels.
Check your travel insurance. If your reason for cancelling is covered (such as illness), your insurance provider may reimburse you for the non-refundable portion of your deposit.
Do I have to stay at the same hotel as everyone else?
To keep the group together for morning departures and evening discussions, we will recommend “base camp” hotels. However, since you are booking your own stay, you are free to choose accommodations that fit your budget or points programs, as long as you can meet the group at the designated departure points on time.
Is the flight included?
No. To give everyone maximum flexibility with cabin class, departure cities, arrival/departure dates, and use of airline points, each member is responsible for booking their own airfare. We will provide a suggested arrival window so you can catch the group shuttle from the airport.
What should I budget for the rest of the trip?
Beyond the $795 payment, you should consider budgeting for, at a minimum:
• Airfare
• Lodging
• Food
• Shopping and Souvenirs.
• Other tours and tickets for entry.
Travel Details
Do I book my own flights?
Yes. Participants are responsible for booking and paying for their own airfare.
Which airport should I fly into?
London Heathrow (LHR) is recommended. Gatwick (LGW) is fine but airport transfer will be on your own.
Do I need to arrive on September 24?
We recommend arriving at LHR between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 24, 2026 (the "recommended window") to join the group airport transfer to the hotel. But alternate arrival dates are fine, and as long as you arrive by Saturday morning, you should be able to join us for the Warner Brothers Studio tour.
If you plan to arrive outside this recommended window, please let us know. You’ll be responsible for arranging your own transportation to the hotel.
Do I book my own hotel?
Yes. You are responsible for reserving and paying for your own accommodations.
We’ve linked our chosen hotels through Booking.com for your convenience, but you’re welcome to book any nearby hotel or use any website that fits your budget and preferences.
Please note that hotels are subject to local city taxes (for example, around 5%) and VAT of 20%, so the final price is often higher than the initial rate you see when you book.
Do I need travel insurance?
Strongly recommended.

Flights, hotels, meals, optional excursions, personal shopping, and travel insurance.
When is payment due?
Your payment is due by April 15, 2026.

We will accept the $795 payment via either Venmo or Zelle.
